CHALLENGE
The company receives nearly 8,000 requests for general liability policy quotes every month. In a highly competitive industry, faster responses directly increase the chance of winning new business.
Previously, requests were received via email and manually processed by employees, compiled into quotes, and reviewed by underwriters, a process that took up to 48 hours. With the high volume and reliance on manual intervention, the company could only respond to about 50–60% of requests, leaving significant opportunities untapped.
SOLUTION
Bits In Glass implemented an API-led automation strategy to transform the quoting process. MuleSoft now evaluates incoming requests, checks for required information, and automatically routes complete submissions forward while flagging incomplete ones for manual review. It identifies whether the requester is an existing or new client, then sends complete new-client requests to MuleSoft, which compiles the data into an XML file. The file is uploaded to InsuranceNow by Guidewire, which automatically generates a final quote. Employees simply review and finalize, reducing manual touchpoints and turnaround time from two days to minutes.
